My Lineup of the week for Week 1 is:
QB - Drew Brees (vs TB) - $6,800
RB - Todd Gurley (vs SEA) - $6,100
RB - Josh Jacobs (@ CAR) - $6,800
WR - Davante Adams (@ MIN) - $7,300
WR - Michael Thomas (vs TB) - $9,000
WR - Desean Jackson (@ WAS) - $4,900
TE - TJ Hockenson (vs CHI) - $4,200
FLEX - Logan Thomas (TE) (vs PHI) - $2,800
DST - Jets (@ BUF) - $2,100
Rationale: This is a lineup that I am happy to play in Cash Game contests, but I think it has some sneaky value in GPPs as I tried not to go for the obvious chalk players that should have big roles with some of the latest injury news (i.e. Boston Scott). I stacked Brees and Thomas in what should be a high scoring game against the Bucs. I think Gurley and Jacobs will have big time performances in week 1, so I was happy to get both of them in there. Adams with Thomas at WR is amazing, and getting them both in here is a win because I am happy with some of the cheaper options I added to the roster. Jackson should have a big week 1 vs. Washington. I paid down at Tight End with two tight ends (Hockenson and Thomas). Hockenson should see big time opportunity with Golladay doubtful for the game. Logan Thomas is my super sleeper here at $2,800. Washington will need to throw to keep up with the Eagles. With a lack of options behind McLaurin and budding chemistry with Haskin, Thomas could return some great value in Week 1. I had to pay down at DST and went with the Jets DST, who scored double digit DK points in both games against the Buffalo Bills last season.
